Hello OBRA Cross Crusade racers. This is a follow up to a post I put out there a few weeks ago.
I offered to help watch your children while you were out there warming up, racing, etc. Well this has turned into an opportunity for me to help give back even more.
16 year old Samantha-the daughter of a racer-comes out to all the crusade events, but gets very bored just watching. She has wanted to offer her babysitting services for awhile-and just didn't now how to put it out there. Well-Samantha has offered to tag team with me these first few races to see what the response is. We will have a 10X10 structure, tarp, etc to keep everyone out of the elements-and if the demand is large enough we will recruit another one of Samantha's friends to help. This will enable us to take older children out on the course to watch the race, and entertain and chase after the younger children that just want to play.
If it goes well-and the interest is there-Samantha would like to provide her services at all of the races, while her mom competes-and Samantha is from Portland, so she has a lot more flexibility than I do-hey, maybe you will pick up yourself a regular sitter to enterain your children on Saturday mornings while you and your spouse go out for you weekend ride.

Let me know what you think. I have had a few inquiries, but nothing solid. Just realize that we will be there this weekend at Alpenrose and possibly at Ranier after that. If you have any suggestions or comments as to what we could do to make this better-please let me know.
