A reminder that the annual velodrome clean-up session will be this Saturday,

May 17. There are lots of things that we need to do to clean up the area.



We will need to re-paint the blue band and at least parts of the rails. The

stands will need to be cleaned up and the benches re-painted. Weeds pulled,

etc. Bring work clothes and be prepared to paint. We will supply rollers,

wire brushes, etc. We will buy pizza and drinks. We will plan on starting

at 10:00 AM and going until we are done, usually around 5:00 PM. Don't

worry if you can't be there at the start or if you can't stay until the end.

Any help is much appreciated.



If we get lots of people then it goes fast, much like a barn raising.

Despite the fact that it sounds like work it is lots of fun. Show your

support for bike racing in Oregon. Let me know if you have any questions.

Some people evidently didn't see this when I sent it out before so here it

is again. Thanks to the people that have contacted me about doing prep work

the week before. I will be contacting you to set that up.

26. We will start at 9:00 AM and go until we are finished. Feel free to

arrive late since the people that arrive early will start to tire and we

will need encouragement and fresh reinforcements.



We will be painting the track again this year, in addition to cleaning up

the surrounding area, painting rails, buildings, etc. If you haven't been

to one of theses sessions in the past you should try to make it. Although

it sounds like work, with lots of volunteers it is more like a barn raising

and is really lots of fun. Seeing lots of people spread around the track

rolling out paint and then the freshly painted track is very satisfying.



As usual, we will provide lunch.



I am looking for people who might have time during the week before to do

some power washing and preparation of the surface. If you have weekdays

available let me know.
