Hi All!
There is starting to be some momentum behind offering a race in the Roseburg area in 2010. As we plan, would you give us your suggestions for what makes a great race? Some areas we would like your input on are:
Prizes
- Do they make a difference in your decision to race?
- What if we gave out 20% of the entry fees to the top 10% in each cat? (50 racers @ $25 entry fee = $250 purse, 5 deep) Would this make you more likely to race?
Course
- Road Race or Crit?
- RR - Flat? Rollers? Hills? (How Steep) Wind?
- RR - Uphill or flat finish?
- Crit - How many corners? What shape?
- Crit - Flat or a little elevation change?
- Crit - Short or long finishing straight?
Date / Day / Time
- What month?
- What day of the week? Sat or Sun?
- Would you be more likely to come if we offered a RR & a Crit in one weekend?
- How early should we start? 8 AM, 9 AM, 10 AM? Later morning races = later afternoon races
Travel
- How much does drive time affect your decision to race?
- Would discounted hotel rates make you more likely to come?
Miscellaneous
- What makes you want to do a race again?
- What makes you not want to do a race again?
- Anything else you want to add?
