I enjoy commuting with the usual bibs and tights as if I were setting out on a longer training ride. I believe that so long as you upper body can stay both warm and dry you will be fine by just getting a pair of tights and letting your legs get wet while keeping them moderately warm with the constriction of the tights.

I've been commuting all summer and early fall with just shorts/nickers, but
now that the rain is here I'm looking for recommendations for a Light/Med
weight Soft shell Rain pants. I have light weight gore-tex shell type
pants, but I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a soft-shell type of
cycling rain pant. I don't need them to be very heavy, cause I get pretty
warm as it is, any recommendations out there ?

Thanks
