To follow-up on the earlier post, I wholeheartedly endorse Dr. Ann and Heather at Transvision. It sounds silly, but they actually made my long-overdue and long-avoided eye appointment enjoyable. If you need routine eye care or want to work with someone with a special interest and expertise in sports eyewear, seek them out.

A lot of people have been asking me about the new glasses I've been sporting at the races. People are surprised to see me wearing what appear to be dark glasses at the night races. Here's the scoop: I had my eyes checked this Summer at the Transvision clinic and it turns out I had a pretty bad astigmatism in one eye, causing me to have poor depth perception. They have a lot of experience working with athletes and sports style optics so they were able to set me up with lenses that not only fixed my depth perception but also improved contrast in all light conditions. There are very few people out there that are able to make really sharp lenses that also fit in wrap style performance glasses and mine are perfect.
Obviously I was really pleased with my experience so when they told me they are offering a 30% discount to OBRA members, I was floored. Perfect vision and eye protection are definitely the best upgrades you can make to your riding. I'm not sure how long the offer lasts so I'd give them a call soon.
