Thanks to all of you! I think what I enjoyed the most about the Blind
Date Series was how it became more fun for us as it evolved. I will be
dating again in 2010. Dot understands. Thanks again to sponsors and
you core folk for taking such a huge amount of your time for us racers.
We loved it!

Subject: [OBRA Chat] Blind Date Final Series Standings
The Blind Date at the Dairy final series standings are now
posted on our website at: www.crossseries.com . We were able to give
many of you your prizes and medals after your races. For those of you
who finished in the top three in each category and who did not receive
your Blind Date medals and prizes, please pick them up tomorrow
afternoon or later at Madison Grill http://www.madisonsgrill.com/ Be
sure to thank Madison's owner and men's masters A racer Steve Brown for
sponsoring our event! Due to recalibrations of scoring, we awarded
medals after the races to a couple of people who fell out of the top
three. Please keep your prizes - you earned them. We obtained
additional medals and prizes for those who rose to the top three in the
standings so that everyone who scored can get and keep their booty.
Special shout outs to:
1. Undisputed Blind Date World Champions Joshua Berry and Alice
Pennington.
2. The River City Mafia of Leland Brown, Alex Chris and Ryan
"Dream" Weaver for dominating the single speed category. We'll
personally deliver your medals and prizes to River City tomorrow.
3. Steven Hunter - for tearing up the Men's A field in the
dark, in dark glasses. Rumor has it that next year, he'll wear an eye
patch to give everyone else a chance. None of us really believe that
wearing dark glasses in the dark really improves his "depth perception."
4. Our tireless volunteers for compromising their own race
warm-ups and warm downs and personal time to keep us organized.
5. Our OBRA officials for scoring the event in the dark,
sorting out the complex results and putting up with all of us in our
first year event.
6. Mike, Candi and Alpenrose for trusting us and helping turn
our vision of a weeknight after-work cross series into reality.
7. Alice Pennington for setting up and tearing down the courses
with Tony for 9 hours each race day and for winning the A field so
graciously and proclaiming, "I just do it for the love of the sport." I
want to be like Alice when I grow up.
Tony and I had a blast and really appreciate the many great
friends we made and the awesome sportsmanship and camaraderie we
experienced. Thanks so much to each of you and stay tuned for next
year's Blind Date at the Dairy, II!
-Joe & Tony
