I hope those cameras are insured, I imagine a lot of racers won't have the
money or interest in paying $20,000 if the cameras get broken.

At the Cross Crusade race today 2 riders in the Masters C race ran into the judges tents at the finish line breaking portions of the frame. This also knocked over both finish line cameras. Fortunately they did not actually fall or get damaged as this would have been costly. The camera are on the order of $20,000.

As it is there was substantial damage to the tents. The cost of the repair will be the responsibility of the race organizer, as is always the case with OBRA equipment at races, even if the organizer is not directly responsible for the damage.

While I realize the riders who struck the tent probably have no legal responsibility to cover the damage cost, I think that the right thing would be for them to step up and offer to do that.
