Subject: Travel Oregon cycling website: Ride Oregon Ride!
Hi-
Because you're involved in the cycling community as an event organizer,
cycling club official or bike advocate, we're excited to let you know about
a new and comprehensive resource for cycling in Oregon: the new "Ride Oregon
Ride " website, hosted by Travel Oregon.
If you haven't already been in contact with us or come across our site
online, a quick primer: Ride Oregon Ride is designed to foster bicycle
tourism in Oregon - for visitors and residents both. It's a repository of
routes, event info and other resources. It's a place people can get
information and inspiration to sample Oregon's splendors by bicycle. The
site is attractive, interactive and very user-friendly. It includes sections
for road routes, trails and tours, as well as an event calendar, databases
of related information and more.
And best of all, Ride Oregon Ride is set up to accept user-generated
content. Anyone who creates a user identity can submit favorite routes,
photos and event information. Submissions are reviewed and then posted to
the site.
This is where you come in.
We've been busy seeding the site with routes, trails and events from all
over Oregon. But you and your fellow cycling friends are the best source of
information about all that's going on in our pedal-crazy state. So we'd like
to encourage you to submit routes and events, and pass the word on to your
club members, co-workers or fellow riding fanatics.
Event rides, club rides, educational events, advocacy efforts. if you're
involved with rides or other cycling events, go on the site and use the
"Suggest an Event" function to send us the facts - it's a very
straightforward and simple process, and the more event information people
find on Ride Oregon Ride, the more they'll come back.
Or just let people know how great the riding is where you are by submitting
a few routes. There are fantastic rides in every part of Oregon, so let
others in on the fun!
If you have any questions about Ride Oregon Ride, let me know. You can
submit an e-mail through the site, or reply directly to me. Your input is
encouraged as we make this the best cycling website we can.
Thanks,
Jim
