Steve Schwaeber
Dear Friends,
We all received the sad news this week that our beloved friend, Rob Williams, lost his long hard battle with bipolar depression which he had been fighting for many years. Sadly on October 26 Rob took his own life.
He fought this fight with undeniable strength and courage that exemplified his extraordinary energy and enthusiasm for everything and everyone. Rob’s life was filled with so much adventure, amazing fun, and happy moments that brought lots of enjoyment to family and various groups of friends around the world. We all have been blessed to have Rob as part of our lives. We are thankful for our time with him and will all miss his smiling face, sense of humor, and vibrant loving, caring personality.
We will miss Rob very much. Since we never know how much time we will have with our loved ones, we should treat every day as a gift.
To honor and remember him, friends and family will be gathering in Portland on November 7?? (tentative) at a place to still be determined (we will send another email shortly with exact date and time). A second memorial is being planned in Santa Barbara.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in honor of Rob to either of two groups with which Rob was very active:
• The Spondylitis Association of America: http://www.spondylitis.org/store/memorial_gift.aspx
• Surfrider Foundation:
http://www.surfrider.org/surfrider_membership/donate/
Final logistics will follow shortly. If you know of someone who would like to be notified of memorial arrangements, please send their email to laddshack@comcast.net and feel free to forward this or otherwise contact anyone who may wish to know.
With Love -
Kelly, Friends, Team Veloce.
