Cyclocross season is now at mid-season and that means it’s time to start thinking about the next phase of training. While some of you will begin indoor training, others will continue to cycle outdoors regardless of the weather. Either way, the ultimate goal is to be better prepared for next season.
If you are looking for a team to train or race with in 2010, CycleOne A.I.M. is a Washington County based team that is looking to expand our roster to include a larger number of women, masters and juniors. CycleOne currently provides coaching for two different developmental groups, CrossWorld and W.O.W. (Women on Wheels). Our goal for 2010 is to expand to include both road and mt. biking. CycleOne provides options you won’t find elsewhere. The Therapeutic Associates Athletic Institute of Medicine has signed a sponsorship agreement with CycleOne and will be offering free screenings as well as seminars. This sports performance facility will provide the perfect venue for indoor cycling classes as well as strength and sport specific training. In addition, I will be providing personal training and running my coaching operation out of the new expanded Therapeutic Associates clinic at Bethany.
Structured training will be provided so you will learn from the ground up. The road rides will provide a lot of emphasis on climbing, with great terrain for hill training. As well, the mt. bike team will train outdoors through the winter at Jackson Woods in Hillsboro, where the CrossWorld team currently meets. With lots of camaraderie, we have had a great time this year. Our goal is to continue in that vein as we grow, and to create a stronger presence in the OBRA racing scene. We are holding a Meet the Team ride on Saturday, Nov 7th. starting at 10:00. As an extension of good will, our sponsor has offered to provide free injury assessment and counseling that day for all interested riders. You will need to schedule in advance. If you are interested in a free assessment, you should call the clinic directly at (503)466-2254. This Westside ride starts at Bethany Village Shopping Center and will tour the hills of west Portland and Washington County. Come out and test your climbing legs against some of the best female climbers in Oregon. Join us on the Meet the Team Ride and see what CycleOne A.I.M. is all about.
