Jonathan and all:

I sent in my thank you note to all the below Lake Oswego

administration. If you haven't already, I encourage you to do so! It's

a small task to give positive feedback for such a positive event!

Dear Riders,

It was thrilling to have so many of you attend the

Lake Oswego Mother?s Day Criterium on 12 May.

It is often difficult to convince businesses and City

Government to close city streets for bicycle racing.

Fortunately for us, there were a number of City

Officials who showed the vision (and perseverance) to

support our race in the face of strong opposition.

If we hope to have the Lake Oswego Mother?s Day

Criterium next year, it would be particularly helpful

if each of you wrote a brief ?Thank You? letter

expressing your positive feelings about the race.

Such a note could make reference any of the following

areas (or add your own):

1.      Wonderful family atmosphere

2.      Increased foot traffic to local businesses

3.      You newly increased awareness of downtown Lake

Oswego and its businesses (Millenium Park, Wizer?s

Grocery, Chocolate Etc., Chico?s Women?s Clothes, El

Ranchito Restaurant, Lakeside Bicycles, Etc.

4.      The large number of local residents who seemed to

enjoy watching the race and commented upon it

Therefore, I ask that you take a few moments of your

time to write a (brief) note to the following

individuals in support of having the Lake Oswego

Mother?s Day Criterium continue in the future:

Kathy Kern (Events Coordinator)

kke-@ci.oswego.or.us

Lake Oswego City Council

public_-@ci.oswego.or.us

Doug Schmitz (City Manager)

mailto:dsch-@ci.oswego.or.us

Stephanie Wagner (Parks and Rec. Advisory Board)

swag-@teleport.com

Marcia Robertson (Parks and Rec. Advisory Board)

WRobe-@aol.com

Donna L. Jordan (Chair, Transportation Board)

DLee-@aol.com

City Maintenance

mailto:mainte-@ci.oswego.or.us

Lt. Debbie Youmans City Police (Traffic)

mailto:pol-@ci.oswego.or.us

Kathy Marcotte (Traffic Engineering)

mailto:en-@ci.oswego.or.us

Here are a few tidbits which may help:

1.      220 Registered participants

2.      Riders from Seattle, Spokane, Portland, Eugene,

Salem, Vancouver, Phoenix,

3.      More than 1,200 distinct spectators

4.      Professionals and amateurs alike raced

Thanks again for taking a moment of your time to help

ensure we can race again next Mother?s Day.

Cheers,
