November Cross in Oregon

First I do not want to take anything away from the Cross series taking place in Southern Oregon, Bend, Up in that area near Puget Sound or even over in Boise Idaho where there are many "Famous" potatoes...BUT...
I (and a large number of others just might agree) got to race two fantastic Cross courses yesterday and today. Each was unique with different challenges, but both were well laid out courses which tested our ability to overcome different surface and weather conditions. Even though both courses were for the most part flat, they used the small elevation differences to make us not just work for forward momentum, but have to work smart for it. I could go on and on about each course, how they changed as the race day moved on, but that is all just part of Cross. Thanks to everyone involved in both the Willamette Valley Cross and Cross Crusade series (promoters, sponsors, vendors, volunteers, racers, spectators and of course OBRA). Your decision to get up in the morning and make this type of activity available for so many is so appreciated.
I do not think I missed any "freaky" out of control in a negative behavior people, so I also add that maybe some of the bad behavior from last weekend was a learning lesson for all of us. It looked to me like everyone was having a great deal of fun and not doing so at the expense (I mean actual hurtful behavior) of others. I had people yelling for and also challenging me and it was above board. Everyone makes mistakes. Lets continue to move the 09 season forward with this positive wave that is at the HEART of Oregon Cyclocross. Yeah baby. The mud is here!
And yes I did have a beer after the SS Champ race.
