I was posted inside the semi-cozy motocross course watching the juniors race and not only were there some great competitions taking place between the racers (as you mentioned John), but the juniors are getting more confident in their riding as well as stronger because of better conditioning. You can just see the how they are riding smarter each lap. This series is huge for their development because they do not have to deal with the adults on the course with them. I urge any juniors who have not raced one of these yet to lean on mom and or dad and get yourself (and them) out on the course racing. There is plenty of mud for everyone.
Keep having fun and working hard Juniors!

Subject: [OBRA Chat] JCS Round 5 Update
39 Juniors braved the howling winds, cold, and rain for round 5 of the Oregon Junior Cyclocross Series that was also the Oregon State Championships.
The well run event was hosted by the Willamette Valley Cross Series and BicycleAttorney.com

The Salem State Fairgrounds, while flat, proved to be a challenging course with high winds, boggy grass sections, a sand pit, and two indoor arenas including a Motocross track.

Updated series Results will be posted here shortly: http://app.obra.org/events/15399/results
Kolben Preble has extended his lead in the Boy's 17-18 series with a great race against Andrew Bennet. Andrew just out sprinting Kolben at the line.
Trevor Schauer is holding his series lead but Timothy Jaynes is on an impressive win streak making it close in the boys 15-16. Colin Dunlap has shown consistent results earning his third position in the series.
Michel Stevens pulled out a great race to beat seemingly unbeatable Sam Rosenburg in the Boys 13-14 race. Adam Oliver is right there in 3rd.
Grant McElroy has won two in a row in the Boys 10-12 category, but steady Orion York still has a commanding series lead.
Sierra Reid took advantage of missing Carina Hahn to jump into the series lead in the Girls 17-18 category.
Dana Martel took out here second win in a row to edge a small lead in the very tight Girls 15-16 group with Marisa Reid, Samantha Schauer, and Natalie Fisher all close behind.
Haley Wilson took her 5th win in a row in the Girls 10-12 group. Haley is the only undefeated Junior in any of the 8 categories at this point. Ema Rosenburg and Sierra Kelly are right there making Haley earn it.
The last two races in the series are back at Camp Harlow in Eugene. Saturday Nov 21st, and Sunday Nov 29th (Final Awards).
See you at Camp Harlow! http://www.obra.org/flyers/2009/psycho_cross.html
The Awards will be one hour after the Junior race on the 29th. We will have an indoor arrangement for the Awards and are working on Cookies, Hot Chocolate, Hot Cider, etc for all. See you there!
