Crossaflixion Cup Updates

Folks,

As many of you know, Brent has been working hard on the course - there will be something for everyone this Saturday! In the meantime, I wanted to send out information about a few logistical things related to the race that will make your day run more smooth and answer a few questions. First and foremost, the location of the event is Seventh Mountain Resort, 5 miles up Century Drive from the last roundabout in Bend (@ Mt. Washington Drive). Their address is 18575 SW Century Drive * Bend, OR 97702 * 877.765.1501

1. Chip timing - the Crossaflixion Cup will be a chip timed event. That means that in addition to knowing how many laps you do, you'll know just how long each lap takes. Important information about chips: when you pick up your bib number, we will also assign a chip to you. All of the chips look the same so please keep your chip separate from others! The chip will go on your left ankle. You can put it under your sock to keep it more secure.

2. Bib number pick-up/race-day registration - we will be inside at Big Eddy's Café. Big Eddy's is located behind the ice rink and next to the Seventh Mountain swimming pool. Please avoid wearing your cycling shoes inside the café! We will have a computer set up if you want to sign-up online and pay via credit card, but anyone registering on Saturday and planning to pay with check or cash can save time by pre-filling out an OBRA waiver and making the check out for $25 or $12 for juniors (it's $22 or $10 for juniors until Friday) to FreshAirSports.

3. Team tents - there is a large grass area near the start and finish area that teams can set up their pop-up tents. The exact location of this area is behind the conference center. Just walk straight back and you can't miss the large grassy area. This is also close to the start and finish areas.

4. Food - Big Eddy's will have coffee, latte's, beer, morning pastries, soups and sandwiches available all day

5. Bike wash - should you need it, we'll have a hose available on Saturday to wash off your bikes. It will be obvious come Saturday, but it will be adjacent to the conference center, near the parking lot.

6. Toilets - there will be several portable restrooms set up near the start and finish area. Seventh Mountain also has "real" restrooms that will be open. If you go inside the café or other areas to use a restroom, please do not wear your cycling shoes - we want to be invited back!

7. Parking - we will have someone helping to direct you to the athlete parking area. If you have a trainer, tent, etc. that you want to drop off, you can get as close as possible (without going onto the course), but we ask that everyone uses the designated parking area. Please do not park next to the actual guest room buildings as this is reserved for people staying at Seventh Mountain.

8. Series awards - we have very cool awards three-deep in each race category. At a minimum we hope to have the winners of each category known soon after each race and we hop but can't promise that we'll have series winners the same day as the last race (November 28th). We'll make announcements from the start/finish area and will also have preliminary results posted after each race.

9. First Aid - tent will be set u near the start/finish areas. Look for the "FIRST AID" banner....

The weather is looking good for Saturday - cold for sure but at this point dry. There might be a bit of snow on the ground but it will only add to the 'cross fun. We are still looking for a volunteer or two, so if you have a bit of time, we can certainly use the help.

Thanks for helping us bring a new series to Bend. We are really looking forward to it! We also want to thank Gear Peddler and Sunnyside Sports for stepping up and helping us with the series. You can thank them by visiting their shops in Bend....

Regards,

Gina and Brent
