Flo..... that rocks or strings if you prefer..... Czech / OR.... connection.... cross, chamber music and beer.... Yeah baby. Of course I am listening to Richard Thompson right now..... a huge influence in his life were Scottish writers and poets.
thanks for keeping all this in perspective. Oh yeah. I am sure the Czech Republic has some good mud and frozen soils like Bend.

Subject: [OBRA Chat] Chamber music and cyclocross...no kidding
You can find cyclocross fans in the strangest places.
Last week, in what I thought was my other life, I attended a reception for the Zemlinsky Quartet, who performed as part of the Corvallis chamber music series. Two of the group were from the Czech Republic, and so I asked them if they knew where "Tabor" was. The cellist said, "Oh yes, where they have the cyclocross championships!" Turns out he's a big fan, proud of countryman and woman, Zdenek Stybar and Katarian Nash, whose (Czech) maiden name he knew and rattled right off.
He was tickled to hear how many show up at a Cross Crusade race on any Sunday. And that there is good beer in Oregon. Perhaps he'll spread the story back home?
So check em out if they tour near you. And be sure to talk to the cellist
