Hello OBRA Cross Racers,
A friendly reminder to that we will be using the Cross Crusade Bib Numbers at the Kruger's Crossing CX Classic (Sun 11/22). So hold on to them after you're done at Barton Park and get some extra racing mileage and cheers out of them the week after.
Here are some other updates about Kruger's:
1) Ron Strasser, Brian List and I went out this morning to Kruger's Farm for a course recon and everything is in great shape. Yes, there will be plenty of mud and puddles, but everything is 100% rideable and nothing too soggy. The parking areas are also holding up very well. And... there is one very nice straight-away through the corn maze that we might probably turn into an optional "corn maze shortcut" (sans tequila).
2) Brian's dog Sophie joined us to scope out the DDCXWC09 course and, as far as I could tell, she liked it a lot. Just one clarification: dogs must be on-leash at all times at Kruger's, including during the dog races. However, we plan to have a covered and fenced-off dog corral/lounge, where dogs of the social kind can roam off-leash before and after their race. And yes, the dog races are open to everyone, you don't need to race the cross races to enter your dog. Even Kenny Williams' poodle is welcome to race!
3) Compared to last year, we added a couple new sections to the course and relocated the start to the same location where we started the Kermesse races in 2008. An updated course-map is posted at: http://tinyurl.com/5nhtc5
4) Finally, if you like to avoid waiting in line at registration, you can pre-register online (through Wed 11/18) through OrBike.com: http://tinyurl.com/ycxxnzm
That's it. Hope to see you at Barton and/or next week at the farm!
~Kris
