True, Friday night is only packet pickup for Saturday race numbers -- not
pre-registration and not packet pickup for Sunday race numbers.

(I would not count on Chips being there either, but knowing Ross -- the C
version, not the B version -- at least one may be there.)

Regardless, all RACERS must check in the morning of the race. Riders that
have picked up their packet won't have to pick it up Saturday (brrr) morning
and only checkin and chip up.

(If you don't want to wear a chip, that is fine, but there is a good
possibility you may be scored DNS. Sort of like if you didn't want to ride
a bike. At this point I have no idea if there is a deposit or what type of
deposit that might be -- need to see the chip guy to learn that and he is en
route.)

Benefits of the packet pickup Friday night for a Sunday Racer?

If you are just counting beans, you probably should get on a trainer or get
in the altitude tent.

If you are looking to toss a little smack back and forth with your nemesis,
get the lowdown on the leaders' perspectives, talk to a pre-rider or taste
some of the best organic beer in town, all without beans, a Sunday-only
go-er might find some benefit to the packet pickup at Hopworks Urban
Brewery(Friday 4 Dec, 6pm to 8pm).

All Sunday racers will have to jump through one or more hoops Sunday
pre-race. Pre-registered will have the least number of hoops.

Is there any benefit or reason, other than beer, for a Sunday-only racer to go to Friday night pre-reg @ HUB?
If not, should I assume we will need to jump through all the hoops Sunday morning?
