Team Tents @ USGP, December 5/6

Andrew

2009-12-02

Unfortunately, the infield paddock parking at PIR is fairly restricted this
year for the US Gran Prix of Cyclocross Stanley Portland Cup (5/6 December
2009).

Due to this, the “PIR parking policy” used at previous cyclocross events at
PIR in 2009 will continue with this event.

**Any team that wants to set up a team tent on Saturday and Sunday must sign
up for it. **

You must EMAIL ME ( aewilson.portland@gmail.com ) by 8:00 pm Friday December
4 (Pacific Time) with your team name and your team’s intention to park in
team parking. Please, only one email per team.

There is a $50 fee for one or both days and it will be collected during the
day of the event (or at the packet pickup party at Hopworks if notification
is made prior to 7:30 am Friday). At that time, provided the team has made
notification, a parking pass will be provided for ONE team vehicle; that
pass must be displayed on the dashboard of that team vehicle while in the
venue.

“Team tent parking” will get one vehicle per team into the Infield Paddock
parking lot. It will also provide access to two "team tent" areas:

1. There will be a “*Team **Village*" area on the course (the grassy part
east of the pit) where teams may set up one, two or three 10x10 popup tents
fronting the course (leaving room between the tent and the course for race
watchers to pass and or join in camaraderie).
2. There are a limited number of “*Team Tarmac*” sites - 10x30 foot
rectangles east of the start chute on the edge of the tarmac. These are
the traditional USGP tent spots with 10' of frontage and 30' deep.

Refer to the preliminary course map (
http://bit.ly/USGP2009_StanleyPortlandCup ) for the two tenting areas in the
infield identified as "Team Tarmac" and "Team Village".

The tent spots will be available on a first-come, first-served basis on-site
after 7:00 am Saturday, December 5.

Team tent space is not unlimited, space on the "Team Tent" list is offered
on a first come, first serve basis.

The following notes are important and should be read and understood:

- Unless otherwise notified, no vehicles will be allowed on the grass in
any part of PIR. Vehicles parked on the grass will likely be towed.
- DON'T PARK ON THE GRASS (if you can't tell, I am serious here)
- Unauthorized vehicles may be towed, impounded or otherwise harassed.
- Only one vehicle will be permitted to enter per team. No exceptions,
all other vehicles will have to park in the main participant lot ($3/car).
Access to the infield will always be available via the pedestrian bridge
that crosses above the PIR race track.
- All participants, spectators and other people associated with the USGP
must leave the PIR premises BEFORE 5:00 p.m. on each day.
- All vehicles in the team parking area should be in and parked
before7:45 am. After that, all tents, trainers, changing tents, massage
tables, etc. will have to be carried in across the pedestrian bridge; cars
will need to park in the general parking area in the South Paddock.
- No overnighting is allowed in any vehicle, RV, tent or any other
location inside the PIR venue.
- No bicycles/bicyclists are allowed to ride/warm up on the PIR Race
Track. Due to past issues with poor racer behavior and safety issues of the
Christmas Lights, it is forbidden by the venue managers and may result in
disqualification from races without prejudice and removal from the venue.
- DON'T RIDE ON THE RACE TRACK. (If you can't tell, I am serious here.)

Cheers.
