Probably lots of people in OBRA-land know who Jack Toland is. Either you've raced with him or you bought a bike from him when he was the manager at Lakeside Bikes in Lake Oswego.

He had a bad bike crash the day before Thanksgiving where he broke his femur and shattered his elbow. Lots of hardware has been installed and has a long road ahead of him with rehab. A second successful surgery happened yesterday on his hip, but from what I've heard when I visited him at the hospital on Thanksgiving Day was that it's close to the head of the femur, so not sure how well the joint will heal.

And if the injuries weren't bad enough, he is also unemployed and without insurance. For those that are on Facebook there is a Jack Toland's Friends group set up for him to keep friends up to date. Jack had written on his own Facebook page what happened to him the day of the crash.

Some of his buddies have started up a paypal account, and also posted where you can send donations via snail mail to help him cover the cost of his medical bills.
