In my efforts to compile a list of women interested in racing SS next year, I now have a list of 46 women. (I was told that a list of 20 would "start the discussion" so I'm ahead of the game.)

To that end, and also to spark interest among women who have not yet spoken up, here's a couple of questions:

If a womens' singlespeed category is created next year, which would you rather see:

a. Women Singlespeeders race with the rest of the womens' field and get tallied separately as a Womens' SS category

b. Women Singlespeeders racing with the [almost entirely male] Singlespeed field and getting tallied separately as a womens SS category.

Question two: If you choose b., where should Mens' B's race? Should they stay with the expanded and revised SS categories, or should they move somewhere else on the racing schedule?

Responses will inform the discussion to hopefully create a womens' SS category for Cross Crusade in 2010. (Ideally, I'd also love to create something like this for short-track, but that's another discussion with a different promoter, and possibly for another season.)
