I promise this is the last time I'll send this...
The Elkhorn Classic Stage Race: Baker City Oregon June 7th, 8th, and 9th, 2002. The "Race Bible" will be posted at the web site soon: www.Elkhornclassic.com If you are planning on participating in the event please take the time to look over the information contained in the "Bible" as it will answer most of your questions. I will answer a few of the frequent questions I am receiving now that are not in the "Bible".
What are the field sizes so far?
It is going to be a true regional race with riders signed up from Oregon, Washington, California, Idaho, Montana, Colorado, Nevada, Canada, and New Zealand.

See registration details at the web page. TO BE INCLUDED IN THIS EVENT I MUST HAVE YOUR APPLICATION IN MY POSSESSION NO LATER THAN JUNE 5TH. THERE IS NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION AVAILABLE.
Fields will be limited to the first 100 in each category.
Which route will we be riding on Stage 4?
Both are great rides but I am trying to make the original Elkhorn Road Race work. As of today it is still under snow and closed. I am meeting with a person with a snowplow company on June 4th at the crest of the Elkhorn's to determine if it is financially viable for me to have it cleared. I really will not know which course we will ride until that date unless it opens via mother nature earlier than June 4th.
Do I need to register to camp and/or stay at Baker City High School?
No. You can just show up at the High School Friday, June 7th anytime after 8:00 AM to secure a spot. There will be plenty of room and hot water. A tough deal to beat at $5.00 per night. Address 2500 "E" Street Baker City Oregon.
Where and when is the race packet pick up?
Thursday June 6th @ Baker City High School 2500 "E" Street 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Friday June 7th @ Baker City High Scool, 8:00 AM - 1:45 PM.
What about a late check out at the host hotel?
The check out time for Elkhorn participants staying at the Best Western Sunridge Inn is 3:30 PM Sunday June 9th.
