I just wanted to plug CERNITZbikes here and let OBRA know about a short term deal that he is doing with our team, Team Buttercup, and is willing to pass along to others to a limited extent.
The builder is Neil Cernitz. He was heavily involved at Boeing for many many years and has fabricated many different sorts of things and now build frames as a hobby he says...if you consider building or designing frames every spare second of your day is a hobby, then I guess that is an accurate statement. He has built two frames for me, one that I raced a couple of times at the end of the season until I was rear ended with the bike on the back of the car. The frame was damaged and he is building me a new one. The rest of our little team wanted one too, and so this "team edition" was born. And since all the bikes are going to pretty much have the same tubing he expressed interest in offering a good deal to OBRA members that wanted a cyclocross frame from him using the same tubeset. He builds in steel and prefers lugged. My lugged singlespeed was near 16 lbs. with my light weight wheelset. The replacement frame will be lighter than the
original, by the way.
His current backlog is probably 4 to 6 months but still in time for the next cyclocross season. If you are interested in a frame based on the frameset he is building for us, please contact him. Because the tubesets will be similar there's some savings that he is willing to pass on. I am not sure what that price is for OBRA and I am reluctant to state anything without his permission, but it is save to say that it is less than the normal price for his lugged frames and less than other frames of similar quality. If you are curious please email him at ncernitz@gmail.com
He is great to work with and is attention to detail is incredible.

By the way, I only ride his stuff, I am not paid by him or a part of his organization.
