Hi Everyone,

Does anyone have experience purchasing an extended auto warranty not
directly from the dealer? I purchased my car a few months ago and it is
almost at the 35K limit for the current bumper to bumper warranty. I did not
purchase an extended one from the dealer at the time of purchase because I
know their markup is 2 to 3 times higher than if I went direct.

That being said, I have checked the website www.carbuyingtips.com/warranty
and they recommend using warrantydirect.com in addition to CARCHEX to
purchase a policy. There seem to be some great tips on this site (in regards
of what to look for in a policy and what certain things mean). Of course, I
generally trust the opinion of my fellow OBRA members over website that
popped up in a Google search.

Thus, if you have some experience with this type of thing, could you reply
off list with any tips/ tricks/ places to purchase from/ etc.
