Good info, Ron!
Any idea on what the steepest Portland Metro streets are? College and
Brynwood have some notoriety. Sherwood Place below Fairmount is a
short, very steep one.
How steep are they?

Thompson Rd at Saltzman is 360 feet. The motorcycle shop at Bonny Slope
is 1.4 miles from the start with an elevation of 600 feet. (240 of
climb). The top of Thompson is 1110 feet for a total climb of 750 feet.
Distance is 3.0 miles
The intersection of Springville and Kaiser roads is 340 feet. The top
of Springville is 1040 feet for a total climb of 700 feet. Distance is
2.8 miles.
Elevation is measured with a Kollsman altimeter which has resolution to
10 feet. Distance was from a car odometer that is known accurate when
measured on the 5 mile speedometer test section of Interstate 5 just
north of Woodburn.
There you have it....everything you would ever want to know.
