Officials Training: Epilogue

All,
Thanks to the 50 or so people who made it out to the OBRA Officials
Training in Salem on Saturday. That was the largest training we've had
to date. It was great to have such a responsive and engaged group of
people there. Also a big thanks to Jim Fischer and Terri Camp for taking
a big part in the training, and for sharing their experience and wisdom,
as well as Melanie Rathe for her contributions. I'd also like to thank
Kenji and Candi for get the ball rolling and taking care of logistics,
and especially for the wonderful brand-new rulebooks!

If you Chief a race, please consider inviting our new officials to be
mentored by shadowing or doing ride-alongs.

For all you racers out there, be nice to our new officials (and
experienced officials). There is a serious learning curve to becoming a
competent judge or ref, so give them some slack. Nothing will send a new
official into retirement faster, experience shows, than riders abusing
them.

As always, a big thanks to all of you who step up to help making Oregon
a great place. I look forward to working, ride, and racing with you!

Thanks
Seth

Thanks Seth for the training! It was great! Thanks also to Terri and Rick, you all had great input in the training. Thanks also to Candi and Kenji for backing/supporting/promoting this training.

Kenji - Seth had some competition for attention when it came to Miffy and Kiffy on bikes on one of the slides. I am thinking you should publish a calendar or make some greeting cards - I would buy some!

All over a class act on the officials training!
