Hooker Elite Track Pursuit Bike for sale -- a steal at $1000 -- price reduced to

te-@easystreet.com

2002-06-05

I am going to post this bike on Ebay later this week with a "buy now" price

of $1000 and a "reserve" price of $800. I am willing to part with this

beauty to someone locally for the embarrassingly low reserve price of $800

in order to keep the bike within the local Alpenrose family. I say

embarrassing low price because the rear Kevlar disc wheel alone sells for

$750, plus shipping.

Contact me in the next couple of days if you are interested.

Subject: [OBRA Chat] Hooker Elite Track Pursuit Bike for sale -- a steal

at $1000

Hooker Elite Pursuit and Kilo Bike, $1000 complete and ready to ride (just

add your pedals):

This bike is very special. Hooker Elite track bikes dominated national

caliber events in the 90's, winning 29 medals at senior and masters

nationals. Rebecca Twigg won the gold and set a 3000 meter pursuit world

record on a Hooker Elite. Hookers are USCF legal. Since it has different

sized front and rear wheels, it is not legal for UCI international racing.

The bike is bright red color, extremely aerodynamic, and is built with

wing-shaped 6061 aluminum tubing. It fits riders that would normally ride a

frame size from 53cm to 57cm. The effective top tube length is 57cm. It

has a very aerodynamic 24" front wheel. Comes complete with front and rear

Falcon Accel Kevlar Disc Wheels. The front disc is extremely fast for use

in calm wind conditions. Falcon Accel Discs are the lightest and most aero

disc wheels available. Also included is a very special custom made Corima

deep dish bladed 12-spoke front wheel for use in breezy or windy conditions.

The Kevlar disc wheels sell new for $750 each and the Corima deep dish wheel

was $500 three years ago. That's $2000 worth of wheels alone! You could

keep the wheels, throw away the bike, and still have a fantastic deal.

Includes, bottom bracket, headset, seat post, saddle, cranks, chain,

chainring and cog, Salsa stem, Profile bullhorns and aerobars, nice track

tires (used only for a few track time trials) on all wheels. Just add your

own pedals and you are ready to set a national record.

I plan to sell this bike on Ebay in a week or two, but wanted to give the

local racing community first dibs. Photos emailed on request.
