i have sold plenty of stuff on this mailing list -- ALL WITHOUT PROBLEM.

to you, mike bene: you are a total a**hat to call into question my integrity as a seller of items.

to everyone else: as you may recall, i had a kuota kredo frameset for sale for an extended period of time. mike first contacted me regarding the frame (he had purchased a helmet from me in 2009...with great satisfaction, i might add). i quote from his FIRST e-mail [jan 20, 2010]: "I bought a white atmos helmet from you last year and that was a good experience" and asking, "you say the price is firm but then say no reasonable offer refused. Any chance you'd make an deal for a fellow OBRA racer?"

originally, i was asking $700, but after being unable to sell it for 2 weeks, i relisted it for $550. after several emails over the course of that time mike responded on feb 4, 2010 that "I aight be able to scrape together $500."

at this point, i was tired of the selling process and accepted. i even agreed to meet him downtown at 12:00 noon while i was doing physical therapy (inside the clinic, bringing the frame with me). that morning (after i had left my home in lake oswego), mike sent a text message saying he "got his times mixed up" and could be there at 12:30. i agreed to that, and went about my business.

however, i received a call from my orthopaedist about an appointment opening up (i am rehabbing a broken arm) and left the downtown clinic at 12:30. as i was leaving, i sent mike a text message letting him know the situation and that i would call him later.

long story short:

after i got home, i checked my email and hed receive a response form someone who offered to come over that evening (i was going to seattle for the weekend) with $550. BEFORE i accepted, i let mike know the situation and he said that HE would pay me $550 (somehow now 'managing' to 'scrape up' another $50) but i would have to wait until monday, as he could not come over right away).

i told him i understood that it was a bit of a jerk move for me to sell it to this guy after we had an agreement, but i needed the money and needed it now and for sure.

so...that is the story, the whole story, and nothing but the truth.

encouraging members to "be wary of his integrity" when referring to me is total BS. the real jerk move is trying to haggle price for 2 weeks, not showing up on time, and then throwing a fit and slandering someone when you don't get your way.

make up your own minds.

I have found this list to be a very good place to find honest people selling
good stuff at reasonable prices.

However, due to a recent interaction with the individual posting this item,
I would encourage list members to be wary of his integrity.
