While I know everyone is focusing on getting ready to leave for the power packed

NW Classic Elkhorn Stage race

and I do not want to overload everyone with Larch Mountain

emailings, I have had enough follow up questions during the last week to

warrant posting the following notes:

* Snow Update:

The Multnomah County Troutdale office (who approved our permits) has

notified the local Corbett road crew of our race, and they are working to

have the roads - as best they can - cleared in time for our event. They

have, as their schedule permits attempted to clear the Larch Mtn road to the

summit. As of this weekend, the road was clear of snow well past the 12

mile marker and bladed to within 250 meters of the 14 mile marker which is

round about 1K to the summit. Should the summit not be clear, the course

will remain the same with the finish line as near the summit as safety and

OBRA allow.



* Preregistration:

We had hoped to have the starting times and order posted as early as possible.

However, I have heard from several people caught up in travel and racing plans for

Elkhorn who plan to to LMH but have still not sent in their registration waiver and entry fee.

If you are planning to race, but have not sent in any preregistration and hope to do

a day of race entry, we would like to ask that you please send us an email

with your classification you would like to race under so that we can better establish

start times, and event plannning. Please send you intent to race emails to:

* Local store/eating:

One of the local stores will be open all day and has a grocery, espresso, deli, and lunch

accomdation. They are also willing to put up extra picnic tables near by. The Corbett Country Market

is localed within 1K of the staging area for your snacking eating pleasure. Lunches can also

be pre-ordered and even delivered to the staging area for pre and post race meals. This store is

a reknown stop off for bikers heading from Troutdale to Multnomah Falls, the Crown Pointe Vista and

back. Great food good prices with super people. Please help support the local economy.



* Multiple racing:

This week we have had several requests to do the race twice, as a Category

AND a Masters racer (these guys are dad's AND tough). We did not clarify

that point, any second race is only $5. A second race fee would be waived

for any Father.



* Junior distance:

Due to the point to point nature of the LMH and after consulting with OBRA officials, there will no

reduced length for juniors. One distance for everyone, however we will be working with anyone concerned

about the distance or return route for the Juniors. Contact us for specific details.



*Grand Prize:

We also have a grand prize for the best time of the day regardless of classification. Details are on

the website. (Another plug to read up on the details.



Also there are categories for just about everything and some you might not

even know you qualified for. Father's who have Junior riders in the race are

automatically signed up in the Father/Child category.
