Subject: OPPORTUNITY: Travel Oregon's spring outdoor recreation marketing
campaign
Dear Oregon Cycling Partners,
Travel Oregon is currently developing a spring-summer 2010 marketing
campaign that will highlight the state's abundant outdoor recreation
opportunities and will specifically focus on cycling/mountain biking (as
well as golf and other outdoor adventure). The fully integrated advertising,
public relations, and promotion campaign, a million dollar investment, will
run from March 22 July 15, 2010.
We want to ensure that all of Oregon¹s tourism and recreation partners
benefit from this campaign, so we¹re sharing the following details to help
the cycling industry maximize your exposure.
We are developing an outdoor landing page on TravelOregon.com. Advertising
and media efforts will drive consumers to this landing page, where they will
find searchable cycling (on RideOregonRide.com), outdoor adventure, and golf
resources.
You may have already been contacted by your local tourism representatives
about this campaign on how to be involved. If not, we need your help with
the following in order to make this promotion as comprehensive as possible:
HERE¹S WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:
1. Data Consumers who are interested in cycling/mountain biking routes,
events, packages, etc. will be directed to www.RideOregonRide.com
. Please review the trails/routes on
RideOregonRide.com to ensure that your community¹s bike resources are well
listed. To suggest a trail, road route, or bike event please go to:
http://rideoregonride.com/suggest/ and
add your information no later than March 5, 2010. If you have a bike shop or
other bike-related business that you don¹t see listed on the site, please
email your suggestions for inclusion to info@RideOregonRide.com.
2. Photos Our goal is to include great images of cycling and outdoor
activities. Please send any rights free images you would like to share to
Amy (Amy@TravelOregon.com ) by March 5, 2010.
Specifically, we¹re looking for high resolution cycling-related professional
photos.
3. Extend our message through your marketing channels. A marketing tool kit
featuring banner ads, e-newsletter templates, images, talking points, etc.
that you can use will be available the week of March 15th. This will be your
one-stop resource for everything you¹ll need to help extend our Outdoor
Recreation campaign through your own marketing channels. We will send you a
reminder email when the tool kit is ready to download.
4. Co-op advertising we have some co-op advertising opportunities
particularly in online channels and at different price points. If you are
interested, please email Michael Sturdevant, Michael@traveloregon.com
Please feel free to forward this to your cycling friends and associates! We
really appreciate your contribution and your help to spread the word!
If you have any questions, please contact Amy Nyberg, Travel Oregon¹s
Consumer Marketing Coordinator, at Amy@TravelOregon.com or 503-378-8801.
All the best,
The Travel Oregon Marketing Team
