Like a speed bump with a crosswalk painted on it. If you are ever
driving/riding through Columbia Park in North PDX they are all over the
roads there.

elevation of the street. They typically have a profile similar to Portland's
22 foot speed bump, or larger.

Raised cross walks are intended to reduce vehicle speeds specifically where
pedestrians will be crossing a street.
*Effectiveness:*
Raised cross walks are very effective at reducing vehicle speeds.
