If you haven't seen- Pat Malach provides some great race recaps on his
website- http://oregon.cyclingaction.com/.
For those racing Echo to Red- each race will have their own numbers.
Please visit- http://www.obra.org/2010letter
If you are racing Banana Belt this weekend. Don't forget- 2 numbers
are required. Officials will begin relegating individuals without
both numbers. Those with temp numbers are exempt from this. If you
are interested in purchasing another number, let me know.
Please be sure to pay attention to your surroundings, look before
moving and be smooth. There were some preventable crashes this past
weekend.
There was also some controversy surrounding the relegation of a rider
for raising their arms at the finish. In consultation with the chief
ref and Board of Directors, the relegation has been changed to a
warning. There is no specific rule against saluting- but depending on
circumstances you could be sanctioned for dangerous riding if you
choose to do so.
Here's what's important to us. Don't do anything that could put other
riders at risk. Use your head. Hands on the bars is always preferred
and if someone crashes because of you or you create a disturbance
behind you- you will be sanctioned. Don't salute before the line.
Finally, if you have not received your membership materials and you
submitted your application in January or early February, please
contact omer@obra.org and include your mailing address.
