This course is great! It's worth the drive.

And you can eat pie at The Logs in BZ Corner afterwards.

Mmmmmm.

Thanks to the promoters who step up.

Obra racing is so good on so many levels.

Many people have no idea what an excellent product we have.

This is a fair course for all physique types.

I'm thankful we have a race.

:)

Dear OBRA,
Can you make sure all races, particularly championships, take place within 5 miles of my house. I would also like a lot of hills and really good weather. If it is too flat, the entry fee is too high or my fitness is slightly off peak I probably won't go but I want to have the option. Christmas day looks like it is an open day on the calendar, so why don't you get the board going on that race for me.
Thanks, Jon

Thought about COWBRA but it didn't fly. I think the only person who
was for it was Dave aka "Cow" Cowperthwaite.

And thanks to Chad for stepping up. I appreciate that you are taking
the time and effort to put on a championships.

sounds like we should drop "oregon" from obra then and just be "bra".

couldn't the board step up and promote a race, especially the road
championships?

Hey Ryan, Scott,

To address some of the concerns:

As we've said in the past- it is not the state championship. It is
the OBRA championship.

Chad was the only promoter to put in an app. This despite being sent
out to many lists, many times.

Ripley said he was going to put in an app for So. O. but he never did-
and I asked him- and he mentioned not having enough time. I would
also welcomed Rainier but an app didn't come from Richard (I think his
wife recently had another child!).

So... since Chad was the only promoter to put in an app- default was Chad.

Anyone who wanted it in their part of the state should have put in an
app when apps were open.

No doubt, that is over 3 hours from eugene, much less the souther part of the state. It has always been my belief that the state races should be somewhere central so it is fair to everybody. I now that is going to upset some portland people who feel they should not have to drive more than an hour to any race. But it gets old driving 2+ hours to most of the races.

Just my 2 cents.

I fail to see how having the OBRA RR's in Washington come anywhere near complying with OBRA's Mission Statement.

Are we really using membership fees to promote "State" Championship races in Washington?

I was planning to do this race in 2010, but there is no way that I can justify 4.5+ hrs of drive time one way.

I hope that this changes for 2011!
