So it may seem that it is odd that the OBRA Championship Road Race isn't in Oregon, but you might consider that it is just making the rounds and every 10 or 15 years putting on a big race up north here isn't such a bad idea since OBRA isn't doesn't represent just Oregonians.

Dear Confused and all
First only one person applied to host the race...thus they got picked
I am not a roadie racer either but
Cycle Oregon went into Nor Cal last year and this year will go into WA and ID
Isn't Trout Lake just right across from Hood River?

Trout Lake is also just about the most amazing place you'll ever find for
Huckleberry fields, and the first week of August should be prime time. Haul
your family along and spend the weekend, and you won't regret it!

alright all you whiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiners. Who ever you might be... as I only
read the Z man's regarding this as well as Tim's..... Anyway all the other
stuff is foo-foo. I have ridden this area on and off road in the past...
not for probably 10 years now, but it is so, so fine. I mean this is one of
the most beautiful places in the NW PERIOD. As a matter of fact... I
suggest you let the people that just care about a top 10 finish ride hard
and miss the beauty... the rest of you just stay in a pack and enjoy the
amazing beauty. Mt. Adams has a larger mass than Mt. Rainier and the
southern exposure on the south flanks of that mountain create maybe the most
unique place in the Gorge area... although my wonderful wife Dorothy would
say it is not a contest... each place is just different... but she does not
race.... so someone or someplace has to win..... I say this place wins for
your asphalt rr this year... love it guys an gals... love it!

How about NWBRO? That is "Northwest Bicycle Racing Organization", not "No Whine BRO"

Seriously though, I think many OBRA members would be really surprised how many OBRA members live in southwest Washington and who race A LOT of "Oregon Races" all over Oregon. So it may seem that it is odd that the OBRA Championship Road Race isn't in Oregon, but you might consider that it is just making the rounds and every 10 or 15 years putting on a big race up north here isn't such a bad idea since OBRA isn't doesn't represent just Oregonians.

spend a night and ride some of the other loops too;
start in Trout Lake and ride Forest Service Roads
23/90/88; it is one of the most beautiful and least
traveled alpine loops you will find anywhere. Travel
time is about 1 1/2 hours from the Portland area; if
Washington (WSBA) were to sanction a race in this
