Lately I've been coming to terms with the realities of my life which will limit my success as a bicycle racer (or, more appropriately, a racer-shaped object). Factors include:
--age and belly (both advancing);
--lack of money and time (aka "commitment to a meaningful but low-paying career");
--commitment to a car-free lifestyle (more important than almost anything);
--lack of serious storage space (no basement or garage);
--recognition that my commitment to fun is far stronger than my commitment to winning.
All of the above have convinced me to pass along a few items I got in the first blush of enthusiasm for my new sport, but which, upon further reflection I realize I'll never need.
1. Blackburn bikestand -- portable repair stand. Lightweight and easy to use, great for simple home maintenance or to take to races. $40.00.
2. Huffy Trainer (aka "why on earth did I get a trainer when I don't drive a car to races and my daily commuting already averages 50-70 miles a week?"). Decent used condition. Nothing to write product reviews about but good for basic warming up, and indoor mileage for the weather-averse. It works. $20.00 and if I can find it I'll toss in the little block I got separately that goes under your front wheel.
Email if interested. Thanks--bh
