I just returned home from the Piece of Cake race and I wanted to send a very
much appreciated Thank You to all the volunteers who battled the weather
with us. I was one of the un-lucky ones who was taken out in the Women's
cat 4 race, but was lucky enough to walk way with only road rash and a few
bruises. My bike was so intertwined with someone else's that it took two
guys from the support car to separate them. I had someone's entire seat and
post through my front wheel among other tangles, but the guys worked very
quickly to get me back in the race. If only the corner marshal wouldn't
have confused me with the Masters group coming up behind me and sent me out
for a third lap, but I understand my field was quite scattered after the
crash - extra training miles right.

Thanks again to all who braved the elements with us; I know these races
would not be possible without the volunteers.
