It is with great pleasure we announce that I received a phone call from the lead of the road crew assigned to the Corbett area of Multnomah County informing me that tomorrow (Friday) Larch Mountain Summit road will officially be open!!!!!!!!!
The gate will be unlocked and a final sweep took place this afternoon. If possible you should extend your thanks to the Multnomah County Permit office for coordinating with the road crews. They worked two days to blade, sweep and clear the road and summit park.
We are working to have a car take clothes and water up to the summit. If you would like this, please bring a bag with your name and OBRA number and we will take it up to the top.
This is an event missing for a few years. Please remember that the roads are not closed and cars will be out and about. Also, many community people will be heading to their local church services. Please conduct yourselves in a manner befitting OBRA racers. In my first meeting with local planners, most of the community currently perceives racers as more respectful, safer, and overall better cyclists than weekend warriors and casual riders. Help keep that perception going and we will keep our race going.

Finally, the local store which has espresso, deli and grocery capacity will have fliers at checkin. Support the community when possible as they are within walking distance of the staging area.
PS: The OBRA starting ramp is making it's return appearance after being gone. Come on out and roll off the line like the PRO rider you are.....
