Westview Wildcat Short Track Race also to have Women's SingleSpeed plus

In addition a Short Track Mt. Bike race to be held at Westview High School  in Beaverton, Oregon on July 31st will also have a seperate Single Speed catagory for Women, plus more Jr. and Master women catagories.  Happy Racing.

Subject: [OBRA Chat] It's official: Womens' Singlespeed at PIR Short-track XC 2010!

Hello ladies: I am happy to announce that Kris Schamp, the organizer of the PIR Short-track XC races, has agreed to create a separate sub-category for Womens' Singlespeed at this summer's short-track series. Womens' Singlespeed will race at 6:30 p. m. with Cat 2 Women, and you will be counted separately for racing singlespeed.

And please, PLEASE be sure to jot a thank-you note to Kris Schamp for agreeing to be the first to create a separate Singlespeed category just for the ladies! (His contact info can be found at the Portland Racing Web site.)

Of course, a BIG part of this experiment's success depends on US to sign up for the new category. If you want to race singlespeed and be counted with other women, please go ahead and sign up for this new category when pre-registration opens later this spring. If the numbers are there then the category has a much better chance of moving out of the experimental phase and surviving a single season.

Thanks for your patience. I am hopeful that this can provide good momentum for the potential addition of a Womens' Singlespeed category at Cross Crusade races later in the fall.
