Candi,
You are welcome to post this about the Shotgun race course if you want.
3 of us showed up the Shotgun Pre-ride of the cross country race course and
a few down hillers on Thursday night. I did not do the race last year but
understand that the course is the same. We took it pretty easy enjoying the
evening and 80 degree temperatures and spent our time checking out the loop.
The course is shaping up real good, there is a few mud pits that should be
gone if this warm weather keeps up. There is a few trees down I hope Randy
takes out, they are on the first double track climb and are about shoulder
high for a 6' tall rider. As it is a big motorcycle area some of the trails
have some good burms in them that let you hold your speed in and out of
them.
I recorded 12.8 miles and 2285' of elevation gain with one of the climbs
gaining just under 800' in 1 mile.
We might do another pre-ride up there next Tuesday or Wednesday, if
interested people can contact me at general_c-@singlepeed.net
