Kevn,

This is an issue that can likely be resolved with a reset.

Try this:

Connect the device to the computer, press and hold Mode and Reset for 10 seconds, release and wait 3 seconds, wait for battery indication, Power the device on.

If that does not work, reply to me privately.

Hello OBRAites,

Looking for a little feedback on Garmin Edge 205 and 305 battery life expectancy.

I've had a 205 for over a year and have experienced battery life of up to 14.5 hours. I realize that is longer than most seem to get, but I had it run 14.5 hours on a long ride I did in San Diego in June of last year before it went dead.

I just picked up a factory refurbished 305. I had both my 205 and 305 on a ride last weekend, (my friend borrowed the 205 to demo it) After 7.5 hours of riding my 205 showed right at 50% battery life on the indicator, but the 305 was just about dead, (according to the battery indicator) The 305 has a heart rate monitor wirelessly transmitting to it, and cadence/speed (though I don't have speed/cadence hooked up to the bike) The 205 of course does not have that capability.

My question is, does the unit communicating wirelessly with the heart rate strap effect battery life to that extent, or do I have a faulty battery that needs factory attention while it's still covered by warranty?

Thanks,
Kevin
