Mt. Hood Cycling Classic
Dear Northwest Racers,
This is it. Final day of registration for the 2010 Cherry Blossom Cycling Classic. Things are looking great and we are excited for this year's event. The local community is really excited to host the race and the Northwest Cherry Festival will be in full swing this weekend with a number of fun activities to enjoy including a full on expo and kids zone for the Sunday criterium. Thanks to our tremendous sponsors we have nearly $14,000 in cash and merchandise up for grabs!
Here is some very important information for all of you regarding the event.
Registration
Registration closes at midnight tonight. We are allowing 5 more spots in for the CAT 4 men's race so if you are wanting in contact me via email as we are full at our online registration service. Still have a couple more slots left for the CAT 3 men's race and Pro 1-2 men's race after we log in the mail in entries this afternoon.
Packet Pickup
Packet pickup for everyone begins at 5:00 PM on Thursday April 22nd and will run till 8:00 PM. Packet pickup on Friday April 23rd for the morning races, which include the Pro 1-2 men, CAT 3 men, and Masters Men, will be from 6:30 to 8:00 AM. Remaining races can pick up their packets from 8:00 to 11:00 AM. All packet pickup will be done at the Lone Pine sales office located one block west of the Comfort Inn. If you are picking up packets on Friday it is a 4 mile drive at around 7 minutes drive time to the stage #1 race start.
Stage Info
All the stages are in great shape thanks to Wasco County Road Crews!!! One tip to think about is every stage is within 3 miles of the host hotel and downtown The Dalles. We would encourage all of you to consider rolling out to the stages on your bike for a great warmup and save on congestion. Think how cool it would be to just roll right up to the starting line and avoid the hassle of finding parking, setting up the tent, trainers, etc. We will have Northwest Neutral Support on site should you have a mechnical issue to deal with.
Tech Guide
The tech guide is now posted. It is preliminary and the final technical guide will be handed out at packet pickup. You can download it at http://www.cherryblossomclassic.com/race-info/tech-guide/
