In the past two years of attending the Bear Spring Trap race I've not
needed a pass to part. Indeed, last year, when parking I discovered a
sign that indicated that the season for passes had not yet started
(Bear Spring was April 29 last year.)
Although searching around the various USFS sites I can't dig up any
specific info to back that up.
