Bear Springs Thanks!

Congrats Don! Sometimes those things happen when you are not even thinking
about it! Congrats to all the racers. I agree. Bear Springs is so much
fun (but that last loop on Pickett's was a technical blast last year). Not
racing was hard for me... I had to keep busy doing other stuff until late
afternoon to keep my mind off of the fun. I looked at my watch at 11:05 AM
knowing the speedsters were already on their way and you guys/gals were just
about to rock. Sounds like the weather and conditions were good for all.
Rain coming in so you are also correct... "Mudslinger" will live up to the
name. Ripley is not shy about telling riders it is OK to use a fender!
later,
ron

Though I am the sponsor of a pretty fun race(Pickett's Charge) Bear Springs continues to be my favorite. Just a note to you with history, I have been racing mountain bikes a long time in this state (1983). In that time I have some success, but this race had always eluded me. Yesterday was the first time I managed to stand on the top step of the podium. I can't remember when the first Bear Springs was but it took at least 15 years of trying. Longevity sometimes pays off. Mountain bike racing in Oregon continues to be a fun thing to do. See you in the mud next week.
