Hi all,
Saturday is looking like perfect racing weather, cool and sunny!!! A few things to think about:
1. Parking - Please park at the Deschutes County Road Works building. We have the entire parking lot so let's not use the road.
61150 SE 27th, Bend OR: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=61150+SE+27th,+Bend+OR&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=61150+SE+27th+St,+Bend,+Deschutes,+Oregon+97702&z=16
If we find you parking along the race roads you will be penalized by racing an extra lap. We will call it a "Tenalty Lap" after our friend Ten who would do such a thing. People will laugh at you and throw tacks at you and your bike wheels. Then we will TP your car. I'm not kidding.
Be aware that the parking lot is approximately 1.5 miles from the race start. There will be signs to the race start but please get to the staging area before your start.
2. OBRA Numbers - Please pin the on the right side of your jersey as well as the back pocket. Also, make sure you bring your OBRA card to registration!
3. Registration - Feel free to sign up online at http://freshairsports.com/events/BendRoadRace/rr_registration.php or you can register the day of.
4. Potties - There will be three potties at registration and one at the race start for all of you with over-active bladders (I also fall into this category). Please do not publicly urinate. You will be penalized another Tenalty Lap.
5. Littering - Yes, we are near a dump but please don't treat Bend like one. Clean up your stuff.
6. Feed Zone - The Men Cat 1/2 will have a feed zone on Lap 3 of their race ONLY. Feed's must be provided by your team. We will NOT be providing a feed. The Feed Zone is on Rickard right past Arnold Market Road. There will be signs designating the feed zone.
7. Results and Awards - Yes, I know you think that once you come through the finish line we should have your results but we won't. Results will be posted AT REGISTRATION at the Deschutes County Road Works Building. NOT at the Start/Finish. Once you have finished your race, PLEASE proceed back to REGISTRATION. Do not loiter...or litter...or pitter (that means pee).
8. Let me know what you think! I want this to be a great race for you. Give me your feedback before and after the race by emailing me at benddontbrake@gmail.com .
9. Volunteers - We still need some flaggers and drivers. Please help us out! Sign up here: https://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?formkey=dERKMGRwVm9GME5ocjVNWTQxVDhkOGc6MA
10. Have fun! Thanks for coming out to race!!!

Bend is gearing up for a great weekend of racing starting on May 8th with Bend Don't Brake, a one day road race, perfectly constructed for a speedy and tactically-minded racer. Registration is filling up so make sure you mark your calendar and sign-up early! Bill Warburton of the Theraputic Associates Race Team will be giving a pre-race clinic for CAT 4/5 men AND women at 11:30am at registration. He will be reviewing the course, tactics to consider, and some unwritten rules of the road that racers should know.
