Thanks Stacia. I hope you don't mind that I am copying OBRA Chat with some selected comments pulled from your note to me, because I think it is a good reminder on this...
12.1.2 Requirements
Any protest about the order of finish must be lodged within 15
minutes of posting if posted at the race or within 24 hours if posted
on the internet.
There is a defined window for protesting results. If a rider chooses to get packed and leave, rather than check results at the venue, they are waiving their option. And you make two great points about why we have that rule...
1- It's not fair to other racers to change results with no stipulations on when that is allowed (I lost a stage race one time because someone protested a stage finish the next day, and bumped me out of a time bonus).
2- It's not fair to the judges to expect them to spend days after the fact going over film and notes, trying to recreate a race.
Thanks for reminding us.

I started asking for the camera to review the film since my notes and Julia's notes matched what was posted...I even drove out to Camp Harlow looking for it...and I picked it up this afternoon. I just got done reviewing the entire footage from the Roubaix.
...the results were all posted at the event and there wasn't a single protest on race day. While I want to make sure the results are correct, it's really unfair to the other riders to change the results days later when the protest period has ended and they may not even be aware that they were changed.
