OBRA-land,
I need your help here. I went out for a ride yesterday and went to downshift and heard a 'snap' instead of the normal 'click-click' in my shifter. I looked down and the lever is stuck at about halfway between where it normally rests. From then on the bike won't downshift, only upshift (little/inner lever works, not the big one) and will make a slight clicking whenever it hits a normal shift point but won't engage.
My question to you: did I break one of the engaging arms or something inside the shifter? Has anyone had this same experience before? If so, what did you do/how did you fix it?
The shifter is a Shimano 7900 Dura Ace right shifter and will be a year old next week. It's never been crashed on or abused so I'm wondering if there was another cause of this or if it's a bad shifter.
Any help/suggestions on this would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance,
