OBRA Land-

I am assisting with teaching a cycling class in the next few weeks. One area that we are covering is safe riding with other riders. I found one video on safe group riding that Bicycling.com put together on YouTube but was hoping someone might be able to direct me towards some others.

Thanks in advance for any assisance with this.

Please contact me off list at greggm00@hotmail.com

I am looking at a 4 cylinder model for gas mileage. I do very little freeway driving. So what are your experiences with them? Any quirks to look out for?

Thanks

Central Oregon mountain bike racers should put Saturday, May 22nd on their calendars as a day to give back to the trails at the COTA Spring Fling trail work event. Most of the work will be centered around the Wanoga Snopark and the new trails of the Steve Larson Event Complex. These are trails that will be used for Pickett's Charge later in June and for lots of racing in the years to come. It would be amazing to see even 10% of the 400+ racers that raced at the Chainbreaker show up to help.

And if you're not a COTA member, it's vitally important to the future of the vast Central Oregon trail network that you become one. It'll cost you less than one race and provide you with miles of trails to train and race on. More information can be found at: www.cotamtb.com.

Don't forget the 2nd Annual Bend Bicycle Film Festival later on May 22nd! Tickets available at local bike shops.

We'll gladly accept your help even if you're not from Bend. The work
parties usually wrap up by mid afternoon leaving plenty of time for
riding afterwards (and the following Sunday even). Many riders bring
their bikes so they can ride what they just worked on.

See the COTA website for more details and basic work party requirements:

Message-ID:
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

So anyone out in OBRA-land had a spinal fusion?
I've got L5-S1 spondy (bilateral pars defect). I've managed to live just fine with it for years but recently I've really messed it up good. The scarring around the defect is such that there is little movement but the offset and inflammation is affecting my S1 right side sciatic (L5 radicular pain and weakness). In other words, pain and loss of strength (drop foot) in my right leg.
While I would prefer not to have surgery, I'd like to be more educated about my options and want to hear specifically from cyclists who may have had a fusion.
Thanks,Brooke Hoyer
