Thanks to all who replied. You all seem to know lots of information about
lots of things and being outdoor minded, I figured a few may have the info I
was looking for.
The reason for my asking is I was curious about the local rivers and lakes
at different times of the year for triathlon swim training, rafting,
boating, waterskiing etc so I could better gauge wetsuit options and just
for my own curiosity.
Thanks again to those who replied.
Cheers
Justin

Yes, the USGS website has a lot of this info. Unfortunately, funding
for gages/water quality monitoring has really dropped off, so there
aren't nearly as many sites that have realtime info or temp.
But, give tis a try. If you click on a station, then look under the
"available parameters" box and sometimes temp will be an option to
select.

If you are looking for high mountain lakes, you may check the US
Forest Service. I work for the Army Corps of Engineers, so if you are
looking for temps in one of our reservoirs, I may be able to dig that
up.
Good luck!
