Mt. Hood 6hour

XC racing is BACK on Mt. Hood! First a huge thank you to the volunteers who made the "day of" stuff happen. But I have to say the main attraction for me was being able to ride some of the course I have ridden many times before, plus some new single-track that has been developed. This venue was maybe perfect for the format you chose. Riders and spectators had great places to view, recover or relax, and the icing was here is this massive wall of white mountain as a backdrop. Was this a party where we had to work for our fun? YES! Does it need to happen again? YES! Oh yes and thanks for the swimming section. I was impressed with the high degree of good sportsman/womanship that was exhibited in the trade-off area as well as out on the trails. I love going down Powerline! I went down faster than ever and I am older than last time. YEEEEEEEEEEE!
Kris, Petr, Erik...thanks for working together to make this happen. We are so fortunate to have so many committed people like you guys putting on great races around our state. At the race in Sisters I was talking with a fellow who lives at a ski resort up in Washington. He had come down to do the XC race. He said they have great races up there, but it is a known fact the OBRA sanctioned races in Oregon are the standard (and a great deal cost-wise). So when we get cranky about this or that (be it snow, heat, two events on one day, course layout, etc.), just breath a couple of slow deep breaths, be thankful you are alive and can race in such a beautiful place with caring people.
