Elkhorn Classic update # This is the last day to register...

Elkhorn Classic Stage Race

2010-06-14

Hello again everyone and thank you for year #9.

A few updates of notice:

Registration ends today!!!!!!  So hurry up as you have until the registration commander gets to the Elkhorn World Headquarters United States Postal Service receptacle followed by the the final download of online registration at 7:00:00pm this evening. All bets are final and congrats - you have a ticket to ride...

NOTE: The Men's Masters Field is FULL as of today. You can still get into a category field and trade with someone.

A note of appreciation and call out to Scott Willson and the OBRA online registration program. I have had nothing but success and good feedback and working with Scott has been great. I would encourage all promoters to support the cause and use OBRA if you are looking for an online group. Well done!!!

Thank you to all the women racers who stepped up and responded. While the overall field size is good, with so many Elkhorn-Friendly categories, the women will be run together (except for the crit with a Cat 4 only race) but still scored separately. This will affect how the women's field payout is finalized.

The final payout sheet for all categories will be posted when we have finalized registration - probably at rider check-in - and will likely be prorated from years past based on the combine Elkhorn entries and category sizes. Trophies remain the same for all fields.

The latest version of the Race Bible (Release Candidate #1) is posted but will need one more modification (so we're farther along than Beta here people). However, the latest information about the new TT course and other updates have been included.

Rider check in ends at 1:00 prior to the 1:30 rollout of the first peloton on Friday - police escort - you are welcome. There will be a 30 rider meeting at 12:30 on Friday to discuss last minute changes and updates along with a walk through of the TT course.

Following up on last year we are working on a video of the final portion of the TT course through town. Don't bank on it, but hope springs eternal. At the very least another discussion about how to get to and from the start house when not racing in order to not get penalized or DQ'd. All this on Friday evening at the $8 all-you-can eat spaghetti feed.

The roads are clear, ODOT is sweeping Dooley as well as checking and likely patching a report of two potholes in Pyles canyon.

In observance of recent events - there will be a moment of silence during the Friday rider meeting to remember our missing. We OBRA are made up of a wide variety and flavor of people and personalities from all walks and ways of life - and yet in both joy and sorrow - we come together united in the proud honor and tradition of a family we all rely on and that is full of love.

So say we all...
