An important clarification should be made (I left it off yesterdays
post)...
If you are 35+, you are allowed to race in the Masters/Cat.3 race. If
you are younger than 35 (ie- 30-34), and hold a Cat.2 license of any
kind, you can only race with the Pro/1/2 field.
Sorry for any confusion my post may have caused.
(Thanks for pointing out my ommission Mr. Walsh!)

The Flyer States that Masters Cat 2 can race in the
Masters race with Cat 3's also included.
Has this been changed???
I have a teammate going to the masters race who is a
cat 2.

Subject: [OBRA Chat] Cascade Classic- Cat 2's & 3's
look at this!!!
THIS NOTE IS SENT AT THE REQUEST OF THE CASCADE
CLASSIC RACE DIRECTOR:
The question has come up dozens of times by dozens of
people with regards to
which category you are to race in........
Here is the skinny from the Race Director, the USCF
and the OBRA Officials:
Whatever is your HIGHEST category, no matter if it is
OBRA or USCF (or
whatever other organization), you must race THAT
category.
For example, if you are an OBRA Cat. 2 but a USCF
Cat. 3, then you can only
race the Pro/1/2 race- NOT THE CAT. 3 RACE! (You
will be upgraded for the
race by the USCF).
If you don't have a USCF license and are an OBRA Cat.
2 or higher, you need
to get a license pronto. Candi has previously posted
the contact at the
USCF that can push through your application. If you
missed that, the USCF
contact is: Jan Luke Hamasaki @ 760-471-9890.
We hope this helps clear up any confusion.
